This project consisted of a new "greenfield" facility with 60,000 gross square feet of space that resulted in 18,000 square feet of raised flooring, 22,000 square feet of support services office, storage and server build area, as well as 20,000 square feet of electrical and mechanical support equipment. Systems include dual 2.25 mega-watt redundant, hot-tie UPS systems that provide an average of 150 watts per square foot over the entire raised floor area. Computer room custom air handling units were selected to provide N+1 redundancy.
HVAC systems provided for the initial phase of construction included eight air handling units rated at 50 tons each with space for ten future similar units. The chilled water system consisted of two 500 ton water cooled centrifugal chillers with two 500 ton air cooled chillers for redundancy.
Fire protection consisted of gaseous FE25 suppression systems with preaction water sprinkler systems as back-up.
Electrical power was distributed to the computer room white space utilizing multiple 300 kVA high-efficiency transformers with 100% redundancy and eighteen remote power panels for branch circuit distribution to the sever cabinets.
Emergency power back-up was achieved with two medium voltage paralleled diesel generators. Each generator was rated 2000 kW, 2500 kVA at 13.2 kV with three days of on-site fuel supply. Space was provided for two future generator sets. The generator system was designed for N+1 redundancy.
