For this project in northwest Houston BDMI acted as the prime professional and engaged the services of architectural, structural engineering, civil engineering and information technology consultants.
The project consisted of a new facility totaling approximately 264,000 gross square feet of space including 100,000 square feet of raised flooring, 38,650 square feet of support services office, storage and server build areas, as well as 100,000 square feet of electrical and mechanical support equipment. Each of the four 25,000 square foot cells included dual 2.4 MegaWatt redundant UPS systems to provide an average of 100 watts per square foot over the entire raised floor area.
Per the owner’s directive, the computer room air handling units were sized and distributed to provide 30% redundancy. Critical support equipment included twenty-six 40 ton computer room air handling units, forty-four remote power distribution panels and preaction fire protection systems per cell.
