IEEE -The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. ("eye-triple-E"). The scope of the IEEE is truly immense and their web site (actually, a group of sites) is a reflection of this. From this portal to the electronic world you can shop the IEEE catalog, get up-to-date news about the organization's dealings, search the site, and register for membership through an online application. An indispensable resource for the electrical engineer.

ASPE -The American Society of Plumbing Engineers. This site is interesting in that it offers much of the information it provides in either browser-based or Adobe Acrobat formats. This may not be the most visually stunning site, but the information is abundant and the applications real. Offering online versions of the ASPEReport, an newsletter of considerable size in html and pdf formats, as well as convention information, seminar and workshop information, CIPE certification, links to ASPE Chapters on-line, and much more.

BiCSi -"BICSI, a not-for-profit telecommunications association, is a world-wide resource for technical publications, training, conferences, and registration programs for low-voltage cabling distribution design and installation. By year's end, BICSI will have over 20,000 members residing in 85 nations." Offering the ability to find vendors and members, on-line member registration, and news.

ASME International -The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This is an indispensable resource for mechanical engineers. A full featured site with a great deal of services too numerous to list here, the ASME site covers all the bases of the professional mechanical engineers needs. Online forms, message boards, educational development references, products and a searchable library are just a few of the services offered on this site. Check it out!

IESNA -Illuminateing Engineering Society of North America. Specializing in lighting concerns for Engineers this site offers information on all things illuminating. IESNA has taken the time to put all their printed publications on dc-rom format and is selling these on there web site. Including search capabilities, the online catalog of member and non-member publications has a great deal of material that would be of use to anyone needing information about lighting specifications. This site also offers online membership services, and events calender, and a searchable job listings page. Having just undergone a site re-design, this site is a worthwhile adventure.
